1. Youth Leadership & Empowerment
BDVS believes that real change begins when leadership rises from within the community. Through youth conventions, leadership workshops, and skill-building programs, we inspire Dalit youth to become confident leaders who can influence governance, social justice, and community development. Our programs provide training in advocacy, civic participation, and constitutional values.
2. Women Empowerment & Livelihood
Through embroidery training, self-help groups, and income-generating activities, BDVS empowers Dalit women to achieve financial independence and self-confidence. We also provide nutrition education, promote kitchen gardens, and create awareness on gender rights, ensuring women are active decision-makers in their families and communities.
3. Community Organization & Legal Awareness
BDVS organizes Dalit federations and community conventions to strengthen unity and collective action. We conduct legal literacy programs, help communities access government schemes, and promote participation in panchayat governance. This ensures that marginalized voices are heard and respected in decision-making processes.
4. Education & Child Rights
Education is the foundation for lasting change. BDVS promotes quality education for Dalit children through learning enhancement programs, girls’ education support, and Children’s Parliaments. We ensure that every child’s right to learn, play, and grow with dignity is protected, paving the way for an empowered future generation.

Skill Development
Empowering Youth Through Skill Development Bihar faces a silent crisis-its youth are ready to work, but the opportunities are missing. With an unemployment rate of 19.1% (CMIE, March 2023), Bihar ranks third among Indian states struggling with joblessness. Even more alarming, only 5.6% of youth are accessing any kind of skill training. At BDVS, we believe this is not just an economic challenge-it's a call to action. Skill development is more than a pathway to employment. It is the foundation of dignity, independence, and transformation. When young people are trained in vocational skills, digital literacy, critical thinking, and leadership, they don't just eam a living-they become changemakers. Building Dalit Leadership for Lasting Change Leadership is power-and for Bihar's Dalit and tribal communities, it is a long-overdue necessity. For generations, Dalits and tribals have been systematically excluded from education, employment, and political life. Without representation, their voices have gone unheard and their rights ignored. At Bihar Dalit Vikas Samiti (BDVS), we are changing that. We believe that real transformation begins from within the community-when Dalit and tribal youth, women, and children are empowered to lead, speak up, and take charge of their own futures. Our leadership-building initiatives focus on: Nurturing grassroots leaders who understand and represent the needs of their communities Empowering women and youth to participate in public life with confidence Promoting civic education and political awareness to strengthen democratic engagement Encouraging unity and collective action to fight all type of injustice Dalit and tribal leaders are not just advocates-they are catalysts. Capacity building training
CAPACITY BUILDING Capacity building is at the heart of our mission to empower Dalit communities In Bihar. For too long, Dalits have faced barriers to education, employment, and basic rights. Through our training programs, we help break these barriers-step by step. We provide tools that allow people to dream bigger and live with dignity. From education and skills to leadership and legal awareness, our capacity-building efforts support Dalits to take charge of their lives and their communities. Our work focuses on: Helping people gain skills that lead to jobs and financial independence Offering leadership training so youth and women can speak up and lead change Teaching about health, hygiene, and legal rights to Improve quality of life Promoting entrepreneurship and digital literacy to create new opportunities Encouraging gender equality through workshops on women's rights and Inclusion Building awareness to challenge caste-based discrimination These trainings are more than sessions-they are sparks that ignite confidence, courage, and courage, change. Alternative livelihood
Alternative livelihoods for a dignified life In Bihar, earning a livelihood is often not a matter of choice-it's a daily struggle for survival. With shrinking landholdings, low farm productivity, and the growing impact of climate change, agriculture-the backbone of rural life-can no longer sustain families the way it once did. Frequent floods destroy crops. Youth are forced to migrate. Women remain trapped in unpaid or Invisible work. And after crises like the COVID-19 pandemic, thousands of migrants returned home-Jobless, anxious, and uncertain. At Bihar Dalit Vikas Samiti (BDVS), we see this not as a crisis alone-but as an opportunity to reimagine livelihoods that are local, sustainable, and rooted in dignity. We work to: Promote entrepreneurship and small-scale industries like talloring, food processing, and handicrafts Build market-ready skills in youth and women through training and mentoring Encourage eco-friendly, home-based enterprises that are resilient to climate shocks Advocate for rural employment policies that create opportunities close to home Alternative livelihoods are not just about Income.
