World Women’s day was celebrated at BDVS, Barh, (Patna, Bihar) on March 12, 2015. Md. Naiyar Ekbal, SDO, Barh was the chief guest on the occasion. The chief guest, Mrs. Lalmunni Devi a village woman, Harendra Choudhari (Senior Advocate, Barh), and Mr. Sanjeet (Office In charge, BDVS) jointly inaugurated the function.

During his inaugural speech the SDO motivated the women saying that women have a big role in the development of society. If they want to bring change they are capable of changing society. What is required is to understand their role in society. He also said that women need to take lead to develop our society through quality education, health care and proper sanitation facilities. He reminded the gathering that government is introducing lots of programs for the development of society and people need to come forward and get these facilities. Assuring his support, he further asked the people to directly approach him to avail these programs of approach him through BDVS.

On the occasion, BDVS, Barh gave away awards to ten SHG women from different villages and the best women leadership award-2015 was bestowed on Mrs. Lalmunni Devi by the chief guest. At the end of the program about 300 women took out a rally from BDVS office to the BDO office which passed through the session court, DSP office, and DPS house. The rally was concluded with a public meeting in which quite few women and BDVS staff spoke on various issues.
