The 19th Annual Day cum Parents Day of Dr. Jose Kananaikal High School, Kharaghpur was celebrated on March 28, 2015. Mr. Shailesh Kumar, the local Member of Legislative Assembly, inaugurated the program by lighting the traditional lamp. Mr. Babu Thomas from BDVS administrative office presided over the function. The program started with a welcome song by the children and there after the children kept the audience spell bound with varieties of cultural programs. The parents looked very proud of their children as they witnessed the talents of the children on the stage. The audience encouraged the children by loud applauses after each item was presented.

The chief guest, Mr. Shailesh Kumar, congratulated the children for their wonderful performances and made an appeal to the parents to become part of the attempts of the school in educating their children. He also asked the parents, especially the women, to make sure that their children go to school daily. The MLA also pointed out that the school has much better facilities in comparison to government schools. He promised that he would talk to the district officer and try to make available to the school basic government schemes and also provide the school with a hand pump.

The best students were awarded with trophies for their excellent academic performances. At the end of the program Mr. Om Prakash, the principal of the school, proposed vote of thanks.
