Life Orientation Training for Girls
BDVS organized a Life Orientation residential training for the girls aged between 11 to 14 for 5 days at BDVS administrative office, Patna. The training had begun from 5th December and ended on 9th December.
Around 47 girls participated in the training out of that 29 were school dropouts. They came from different villages of Khagaria district of Bihar and belonged to economically and socially backward families.
The main Objectives of the training was to make them aware of social and sexual exploitation of women such as what is bad touch and good touch, to create awareness about gender equality, to educate them to behave with growing age, to create awareness about cleanliness of personal as well as community.
Keeping their educational status in mind the life orientation training gave special focus on motivating the dropouts to go back to school, to make them proud of being a girl and to generate some boldness to express their opinion.
The classes for the training were conducted by Mr. Birender Kumar, Mr. Ajit Kumar, Ms. Kamala Anuranjan and Ms. Rajini Roseline.
Ms. Gudiya and Ms. Laksmi also helped in the smooth functioning of the program. For the smooth functioning of the training separate time table was prepared for each day.
