When lack of money or resources become obstacles to higher education, helping hand for our Dalit girls is the need of the hour.

BDVS had organised two days scholarship program cum workshop from 14th July 2017 to 15th July 2017 in their Patna administrative office. There were 23 girls (who had completed their Secondary School exams successfully) from Barbigha, Sheikhpura, Barh, Munger, Kharagpur, Muzaffarpur, Rukanpura and Kurji. These young women were awarded Rs 5000 in their savings accounts to help them with their senior secondary (Class 12) studies.

As part of the event, the students were exposed to some basic communication skills. They learnt about creative writing, news writing -its basics and the main component of news writing, feature writing, letter to the editor, making magazineand making newspaper.

Mr Birendra Kumar was the resource person for this program. Birendra is an experienced resource person with over 25 years experience in low cost communication and nukkad. He made the program very interactive.

The scholarship scheme is a follow-up to the ongoing educational support that BDVS provides to selected girl students from poor economical backgrounds according to their merit and performance in school and in the secondary examinations.
