Bihar Dalit Vikas Samiti has been working in 20 Mushar villages of Kharagpur block since 1997 especially in the sector of empowerment, health, socio-economic development, SHGs, livelihood and quality education. Leadership is an integrated part of our work. BDVS promote dalit leadership and social harmony for which we have been providing guidance, trainings and other empowering means.

On 13th February 2017 BDVS had organised one interface meeting with PRI members of Kharagpur block. At least 8 PRI members from 8 different villages and 1 Mukhia had participated. The program was started at morning 10.30 am with an introductory and welcoming speech by Mr. Prabin Kumar and explained the core objective of the meeting. The program was facilitated by Mr. Nayak and documented by Mr. Harsh Kumar (Panchayat Facilitator).

This meeting was focused at bringing PRI members in one platform to review the Gram sabha took place on 26/01/2017 in their respective panchayats and to encourage them to play a vital role in mobilizing communities to contribute in solving community problems particularly in the sector of education and panchayat raj. At least 10 PRI members from 6 panchayats had participated and promised to take necessary steps in resolving community problems. They have suggested organizing block level interface meeting so that the issues can be addressed and possible solutions can be emerged.
