Education is not just about passing exams—it is about unlocking human dignity, opportunity, and voice. In Bihar, however, that promise remains out of reach for far too many. The ASER 2023 report paints a painful picture:
- 1 in 4 youth cannot fluently read a Class II-level text in their own language.
- More than half of adolescents aged 14–18 struggle with simple division problems.
- Only 57% get them right.
These are not just numbers—they are the stories of bright young minds being left behind.
There is hope: Girls are showing stronger reading skills than boys—76% of young females can read Class II texts compared to 70.9% of males. But challenges remain. English literacy is still low, and understanding what they read is even harder for many.
At Bihar Dalit Vikas Samiti (BDVS), we see education not just as a right, but as a revolution. One that begins in classrooms, continues in communities, and transforms lives.
We are committed to:
- Strengthening foundational learning for children and adolescents
- Supporting girls’ education and leadership
- Promoting digital inclusion and creative learning tools
- Help dalit and tribal communities in raising children with constitutional and morale values and responsibilities
- Empowering dalit and tribal communities to demand quality education for all
Because behind every struggling student is a dream waiting to take flight—and we are here to walk with them.
Let us build a future where every Dalit child in Bihar—not just the privileged few—has the power to read, reason, and rise.
The change begins now—and it begins with all of us.
